November Update

I was intending on showing up for Bloggers cool circle yesterday but I just did not have the time. I'm not going to give you the inevitable apology about how busy life is because obviously some important stuff is happening because I'm neglecting thus very important part of me.

Well, it's November and I've got huge list of things to do this month before everyone goes into full on party mode next month!

What I will tell you is that I have a bucket list Summer 2014/15 planned as well as a guest post from one of my very sweet blog buddies,Victoria

In the midst of tying up lose ends this year, I hope you don't forget it's Movember! I shared a pic of my support on Saturday on my Instagram account (shameless plug, I know!)

Also, Johannesburg has been having a ridiculous amount of load shedding for electricity which is super annoying and disruptive but I suppose it would be a #ThirdWorldProblemInAFirstWorldCity

Have you set your goals for November? How about your resolution list from the beginning of the year, any of them still viable??

Facts About Me { #Blogtober14 }

I've been wanting to link up again for Blogtober but been a bit lazy to actually work at the topic that's why today's topic is simple PLUS I need to redo my about page so this is me working some of those kinks out...

* I am OCD
*I am an Aquarius and while I don't follow the whole star signs thing anymore I think it's interesting to know.
* I believe in love at first sight
*I'm a qualified lawyer

*I'm obsessed with travelling and there's not a place in the world I wouldn't go to, just once.
* My favourite place is Ireland. I've been twice and I know I will be returning many times over.
* I love my horse
* I'm obsessed with soccer/football and my captain fantastic Steven Gerrard
*I'm a bibliophilia
* I have my person and I didn't always understand the relationship we have until Shonda Rhimes showed it to me!

* I'm basically a TV addict.
* I like the Kardashians, especially Khloe
*I've been on a contiki trip and I recommend it to just about everyone
* I'm a nerd at times

Yes, I'm repeating last week's image.. I'm a bad blogger!

* I love different types of music especially country and folk which is only gaining popularity recently in South Africa
*I'm South African - this is the most surprising fact which I receive comments from other bloggers... yes we read blogs in SA.
* I'm in the middle of starting a new adventure but not ready to share the details but I'm so excited by it all.
* The Script and One Republic both follow me on Twitter, so you should do the same!

So I sort of cheated by bringing a lot of my old posts into this one but these are all facts about me.. do we have anything in common??? Share in the comments!

And of course, I'm linking up with Helene and Tay so go check them out!

Be Your Own Heroine

So, to be honest, I only thought of this post after I posted on my Instagram account this morning but it sort of coincided with the fact that I finally watched Frozen last night.

I have obviously heard a number of great reviews and of course I remember the whole John Travolta debacle with Idina Mendel

But the truth is there was a lot to learn from the movie. Woman are brought up to believe we need to find our Prince Charming or rather wait until he finds us and I really liked that this was finally a strong message that woman need to do things for themselves and try not to get caught up in the moment!

Logic, right?
The truth about most girls

And mostly the movie shows this simple truth for woman...

With that, I'll let you get on with your week... what have you got planned?

Humpday Confessions { Link Up #23 } { #Blogtober14 }

I'm not going to lie, I've got the Bloggers Block - BAD! There's so much swimming around in my head but to actually sit down and type it up had been a challenge. I hate that I've been neglecting this little piece of my life or the web but when the time is right I'll be sharing things with all of you, promise!

Anyway today ofcourse I'm linking up with Kat and Ian for Humpday confessions of "what makes me a nerd"  although while I'm prepping this it seems as if Kat is still on vacation and not hosting the link up :(

Vodka and Soda

* I'd rather stay in and read. While people say it's because I'm getting older I can assure you I was 11 years old and perfectly happy not playing outside if I got to read a new Sweet Valley High.

* I refused to watch the Book Thief until I finished reading the book even though it meant I went alone on a Thursday in the day. I was totally ok with it.

* Stationery gets me excited! See my latest purchases of notebooks.

* I bought the aforementioned books at Typo and I can spend hours in that store.

* No one likes to go to book stores with me because it's not "fun" to browse books stores...

* When I get really excited I do a happy dance!

* I've been spending a lot of time with my cousin and my current happy dance is the running man.

* I make lists of lists, it's ridic. I currently have about 5 or 6 different lists on one page just so I can keep control of my shizzzz

* I just used the word shizzzz which I've never done before but if I did it wouldn't help my cool factor

* I know soccer/football quiet well, so much so that I end up talking most people under the table because they always look at me and think, she's just a girl... Except I'm a girl who likes to study and have knowledge so I have an informed opinion.

I'm sure there are many more reasons why I have "nerd" tendencies but the best part is that when you're in no longer in school all those type of labels don't mean a thing.

Disclaimer: I don't actually believe in the the whole idea of nerds being silly and bullied, I just think the nerds of your school days are the best husbands (or wives) of the rest of your lives *hint hint, nudge nudge* Also, in school, I didn't fall into any particular category and I liked it that way

What's your nerdiest quality?

Also, linking up with Helene and Tay for #Blogtober14 about what are my pet peeves...
Helene in Between Blogtober

I've already shared a few but one more that I've picked up is when I find drinking glasses and there are fingerprints on them .... eeew!

My Favourite Quote & Other Confessions { #Blogtober14 }

I can't believe that I haven't blogged in the last week, to be honest, I haven't even given this blog of mine much of a thought. I've been neglecting my twitter account, hardly visiting my fav blog reads and rarely posting on Instagram. I've been busy peeps! A lot has been going on and while I considered sharing my last week's confessions through some of my snapchats I decided to save that for another day but for now here's some of the drama that's been going on...

* I went onto some site, I don't know which one otherwise I would share it with you so you could avoid it because now my laptop is inundated with pop up ads and basic spam

Source

* I know people complain about their iPhone5S battery lives, I am one of those people but I checked with my service provider as to what I should do about it to check if mine is more severe than others and he said he would have to take my phone in for SIX WEEKS without a replacement!

NOTE: The last two gifs could be used interchangeably for both my scenarios!

* My brother's wedding is in 15 weeks time and I really want to be much smaller healthier by then so today is day one of seriously Healthy Natalie 101 because I've been so bad in recent weeks due to roadtrips and celebrations and family time.

* Lastly, I'm linking up with Helene and Tay for #Blogtober14 and today I'm sharing my favourite quote and it's easily my first choice. I learnt it when I was about nine years old and it always stuck because I loved the idea of love at first sight but as I've grown older I think your smile really shows what kind of person you are and people should know how loveable you can be.

Also, I'm linking up with my girl, Kat for Humpday confessions

TV Confessions {Link Up #15}

I wanted to blog yesterday all about the Emmys but after my MTV VMA post I figured it would be too much for my lovely readers to inundate them with more awards show views plus, the Emmys were surprisingly boring and yes, I'm talking about the red carpet however, I love TV. I've said it many times before but I'll say it again, TV is a big part of my life.

Here are some of my TV confessions also, be forewarned if you haven't caught up on all these shows.

1. Greys Anatomy
When Lexie was killed off the show, I really didn't know she was leaving so I watched it full on crying and in shock.

2. Game of Thrones
While this is a show where ridiculously unexpected things happen every so often episode my most shocking episode was the Red Wedding.

This was so shocking you can actually watch people's reactions to watching this scene.

3. The Good Wife
This is actually the episode that triggered this post. How did I not know that they were killing Will off???

I am so upset about this because Will was my favourite character on the show and the way he was in love with Alicia was so special.

4. Game of Thrones (again)

This time it's the Purple Wedding. I spent so much time watching this show wishing they would just kill Joffrey off and when it happened my reaction was somewhat like this...

5. Scandal (The Fixer)
I'm going to be honest, I thought David would have been killed off but alas, it was James who had to go...

6. Chicago PD
I only started watching it because I'm a Sophia Bush fan but now I'm seriously into it! Plus her partner is super hot, hopefully they hook up soon...

7. Drop Dead Diva
It's so silly but I can't stop watching it!

8. Girls
I cringe almost every episode and yet I am more hooked then ever before.

9. Reruns, I will NEVER get tired of rewatching Sister Sister / Half and Half / 7th Heaven / Soul Food / One Tree Hill / Sex and the City / Friends or the Nanny. There are loads more but you get the idea...

What's the one show you never get tired of watching?

Of course I'm linking up with Kathy for our weekly purge confession session

I Can't Be Defined {Link Up #13}

In my previous post I shared links that I've been liking. One of them was a personality test, the Myers Briggs test more specifically and what I failed to share is that every time I have taken this test I have received a different result.

It actually started as a joke because one of my BFFs is in Human Resources and she was saying that this test was really helping them at work understand their employees but when she was looking at the possible answers, she couldn't really pin me down so she sent me the test and I've taken it at least six times. Never the same answer.

Does that mean I'm a psycho, that can't be profiled???

Here is my most recent result  : ENFJ which is broken down into  the following     Extravert(1%)  iNtuitive(25%)  Feeling(62%)  Judging(22%)

This is what all that means and my comments:

// ENFJs are global learners. They see the big picture. The ENFJs focus is expansive. Some can juggle an amazing number of responsibilities or projects simultaneously. Many ENFJs have tremendous entrepreneurial ability.

- I definitely would view myself as a global learner. Often referred to as a nerd but really, I like learning new stuff and stimulating my intelligence. I do tend to take charge of projects which may lead to me organizing a number of projects simultaneously.

//Their offices may or may not be cluttered, but their conclusions (reached through feelings) about people and motives are drawn much more quickly and are more resilient than those of their NFP counterparts.

- This may or may not be true. Usually I keep my office or space organized. Although, it seems like to others organized chaos, when I do a clean down, I really clean up and maintain for a while month or so.

// ENFJs know and appreciate people.

- YES!!! I absolutely know people and appreciate some all. That appreciation isn't necessarily reciprocated.

//Like most NFs, (and Feelers in general), they are apt to neglect themselves and their own needs for the needs of others. They have thinner psychological boundaries than most, and are at risk for being hurt or even abused by less sensitive people. ENFJs often take on more of the burdens of others than they can bear.

- I've been told this is true and at times I do agree. Okay, I agree all the time, although in my adolescence I definitely used to take how people reacted to my advice or opinion very personally but as I got older I realized that  people will react the way they want to either way. Often your  advice falls on deaf ears.

Have you taken the test yet? Were your results conclusive???

Today's Wednesday, so you know I'm linking up with Kathy and Ian!

Things I'll Never BE { Link Up #12}

I've already shared a list of things I'll never do but as I write this post, on Tuesday evening, I'm reminded of something else I will never do intentionally but more so something I'll never be. Then it got me thinking... there's a lot of things I'll never be...

// Bulimic. Now before anyone gets upset with me for being insensitive, I am very aware that bulimia is a disease and I feel terribly for those who suffer from it because I've had many discussions with nurses or sufferers of bulimia to know it's difficult plus, I watched Sami do it in Days of our Lives when I was like, 8 years old. However the reason I could never be bulimic (nor do I want to be) is that I have a terrible gag reflex and today when I was choking on something I ate and had to force myself to bring it up it hurt at a ridiculous level of pain. I could never intentionally make myself puke. Oh and my eyes got all red like I'd been crying for days and I don't think I could ever pull that look off.

// a Ballerina. I wish I could have been one because it seriously looks like the most graceful manner for woman but I went for a few ballet classes when I was 4 or 5 years old but didn't follow through. I can't remember why I didn't commit to it but I think there was some level of foresight because my bust size would not allow me to stay in the normal leotards.

//a woman who walks around without a bra. You get those woman who don't necessarily need to wear a bra, I'm not one of those. Bras are an essential item in my life for those who don't have this problem, I hate still love you.

// a person who thinks it's okay to date your friend's ex. This is random but I was watching Drop Dead Diva and I was super pissed with a certain someone for this and I hate when people do that and pretend as if they're current feelings should invalidate your history with the person. There's a girl code - don't be a bitch! Okay, rant over

// someone who uses "sms talk". While I definitely use shortened versions of words I love using vowels so I won't be the person to send a message with "M8, runin l8, C U in 10" even typing that out gave me anxiety. I love proper grammar and language.

// a Hoarder. While I may definitely hoard some old photographs and a T-shirt or five from High School, I could never be a hoarder worthy of the show Hoarders because I am so scared of any bugs and let's face it, hoarding crap brings on the dirty bugs! Eeeeeeeeew!

I had a whole longer list but then I thought this might get too long because I can feel the rambling starting!

What will you never be?

Also, of course I'm linking up with Kathy at Vodka and Soda and the gorgeous Ian ;)

Humpday Confessions {Link Up #7}

Whoop whoop, it's time for some confessions with Kathy

Vodka and Soda

Ok, I honestly thought this was going to one of those fun confession posts that I had planned but then certain things happened that actually required me having a moment to vent share with all of you.

Therefore, my confessions are that...

* ... I fixed my comments section. Thank you to all of you who tried to help or sent me links. Although I couldn't use the links because most of them meant switching back to a non-reply-blogger. I ended up playing around with it and eventually I fixed it, I have my suspicions on how I did it but I did lose all my Google+ comments which sucked. I was so angry when I realised it, I looked something like this...

* I published a very personal post yesterday and I cried when I read it once I read it in it's entirety. Not an ugly cry just one of those one tear slowly rolling down my cheek. It made me slightly sad but also really proud of the fact I finally posted it. It made me really happy that I received so many great responses..

* Every single team I have supported during the World Cup has been eliminated. It's like my support is the kiss of death. I wish I could stop watching because I actually feel bad for the teams but I love football and this tournament is to me like a special eclipse which comes once in a blue moon...  I also feel like I need to make it clear that I don't usually support losers, I usually support the winning team for international tournaments but clearly this is an off year

* Although a lot of the World Cup games have been going into extra time because it's been a tie/draw at full time, I have actually been enjoying it because I get to drool over all the player's thighs.. now I know woman don't like to be idolized but it happens anyway so I'm just going to enjoy the eye candy of the thighs because there are two things I love about men - necks and thighs. Do you blame me?

* After Girls Night Out on Friday I was rudely reminded that I don't like clubbing. Don't get me wrong, I love to dance and hang out with my girls but the idea of strangers dancing up on me does not appeal. Also the music I want to dance to makes me feel super old because it falls into the golden oldies section. Here's one of my favourites...

* I've started watching Game of Thrones and am currently in the middle of Season 2 and I'm hooked. I feel like I could binge watch it but then I keep thinking I'll catch up and have to wait like everyone else for the fifth season...

* I haven't been happy with my blog design for a while so I found a site which said I could develop my blog from scratch. I spent hours on it to realise that I couldn't move the template to blogger and would have to start a whole new blog...

* You know what I did have time for? Reading all the blogs that linked up last week.. that's right - all 90 blogs...! Thanks for the entertainment as per usual I loved reading about your latest confessions.

Also, I decided to link up for today in the Blog Everyday in July with Allie and co so my last confession is simultaneously an admission of one my guilty pleasures.
Allieology

* I love listening to country music. While a lot of my readers are from the U.S this isn't that big a confession but in South Africa country music up until recently was LeAnn Rimes "I need you" and that was all. I have loved country music for years but I absolutely love that country music is becoming more universally popular so my brother and cousins can stop making fun of me for loving it. I even listen to the Modern Country radio station on DSTV.... I started watching Nashville just so I could hear country music and I don't regret it for a moment.  I love this song...

That's all folks! What are you confessing today? Do you have any country songs I should listen too?
