Don't Grow Up

I feel like this may well be a pointless post because if you're reading this blog you're probably old enough to realise what every adult out there knows, life is easier as a kid.

While being an adult and doing what you want because you're paying for what you want has it's obvious perks, being an adult is difficult.

Paying the bills I can still deal with it but making difficult all decisions are challenging because literally every decision you make has an even bigger reaction. I'm a definite list person, it's the lawyer in me, weigh up pros and cons and your decision is easy, right? NO, wrong!

And ofcourse while there are decisions concerning other people's lives I can give a to the point answer because, hellllllo, I don't have to deal with the consequences.

The last 12 months of my life have  been extremely difficult in the decision department and I have had to rely heavily on my faith in God to get me through. I have made decisions where the people around me do not understand and even I at times did not see the bigger picture but I truly believe that taking a leap of faith is what's getting me through it all!

So the point of this post is simple.... Don't Grow Up! When you're in your teens, think about that only enjoy those challeneges, when you're in your 20s stop stressing what your 30s will be like so that when you're in your 30s you don't have to wish to be your irresponsible 20-something year old self.

Also, my one beauty item I can't live without is sunblock, I've mentioned this before and while I know some may argue sunblock is not a beauty item, my skin would beg to differ.Check out what the other ladies can't live without from the #Blogtober14 link up with Helene and Tay

A song for you this weekend...

What's your weekend plans???

N is for Nail Polish (A to Z Challenge)

Nail Polish - Varnish applied to the fingernails or toenails to colour them or make them shiny.

I may not be a beauty blogger but I really love nail polish! If you catch me without any nail polish on my hands or toes then you must know that I'm not in my usual head space.

I always look at other people's hands and toes because I'm always conscious that other people are looking at mine. I don't even understand how some woman walk around with smudged nails or chipped nail polish. My favourite brands are Essie and Rimmel. While I like the Essie colours more, I really like that Rimmel's 60 seconds nail polish does try really quickly.

I was so afraid of trying to wear red but now that I've started I really love it. I really love bright bold colours on short to medium length nails and then when my nails are long I enjoy softer natural shades.

Here's some pictures to help sum up how I feel about nail polish.

Do you wear nail polish? If so, do you have a go to brand or colour?

3 Things I Recently Learnt

This weekend was so much fun and so much happened that I am certain that almost all this week will be full of blog posts from it, however I thought after my previous post, I would add to my list and include three things I recently learnt.

1. How to apply make up for someone else. This may not sound like a big deal but I am actually getting really good at this.

2. How to tie a Sari. It's crazy how difficult it seemed until I watched it a few times and then saw this Youtube video.

However, I incorporated a whole lot of different styles and came up with these Saris.....

3. Always have a back -up plan. I had planned to go to the hairdresser and have my hair done in a 1920s bell wave but when I got there, the lady made excuse after excuse as to why she couldn't do it and eventually I left the salon with straight (ish) hair but then after throwing a pity party for myself, I decided to go past Accessorize and buy a hair clip... how pretty is it? And I did my own hair.
I think the back- up plan reminded me that people will throw curve balls at you but you have to shake it off and find another way.

Have you learnt anything new recently? Why don't you share your lessons with me?

Wedding outfits which push your out of your comfort zone

WHAT? A second post in one day?!Another update on the wedding I attended, it was seriously fun to dress up.

On Thursday, to the Hurdee, which is an indian ritual where certain ladies rub tumeric on the bride as an act of clensing her, I wore this purple, black and grey sari and when I say I "wore"the sari I am exaggerating. The tying of the sari was so complicated and was just NOT working for me. I promise this trial run was a horrible experience BUT it actually looked ok in the pics...

On Friday I decided to add some colour to my hair.. can you see it?

Also it was my first time in full indian ware. This is the finised product, not bad, I might add?!

Then on Saturday, after some drama at the Hairsalon, we managed to finally get to the reception and it was a really gooooooood party. I wish I would have taken more pics of the food and the decor but the truth is I was enjoying myself so much that the thougt of having to stop and take in the details was too much effort.

After the reception, we didn't want the party to stop so we went a club and I must be honest it's been a while for me.. either way, we eventually left the club after 4am and after a mid night/ early morning snack we got to bed around 05h20 Sunday morning.

The ride home was slightly rough but oh so worth it!

It was a good weeked and I wish the Bridal couple all the best for the future. More pictures from my beautiful country will be coming up soon!

What's your favourite thing about weddings?
