Life Lately... Well Sort Of

I've been noticing a lot of "Life Lately" posts and I suppose it makes sense, it is that time of the year when things are slightly chaotic and everyone seems to be realising that we're halfway through the year and not sure of what we have to show for it!

However I'm not going to go into the details of what's been happening in my life but here's where my head has been ...

Watching:

I've been watching A LOT of football! This is a World Cup full of surprises and I'm keeping track of them, every step of the way...

Also, I was away from home for a while so I've been catching up on all my shows (Hart of Dixie, Prettly Little Liars and repeatedly watching the last episode of TVD)

Loving:

The new bits of man candy I'm finding while watching the world cup also, I am seriously loving that this month I got to spend so much time with my family (including my extended family) and that my niece should be making her arrival soon.

Hating:

Unnecessary drama

Feeling:

Embarrassed, I fell in a bar the other night, I wasn't even drinking but as I leaned on the chair I went sprawling to the floor and all I was thinking is "that would have made a hilarious gif" but more so, two days later, my back is in a full on spasm so now I'm not only embarrassed, I'm sore as well...

What's been going on with you lately?

Humpday Confessions {Link Up #5}

Good morning lovely people of blogland!
It's Wednesday so you know I'm linking up with Kathy at Life In Progress for my weekly confessions. Without further delay I confess...

~ ... I cannot be happier to be back home. It's not that I didn't enjoy travelling around Durban and Johannesburg and especially seeing my family, I really just missed home comforts.

~ ... spending time with both my mom's family and my dad's family was pretty awesome and it reminded me how much I miss living near them because sometimes it's fun to just hang out with the crazies in your family who love you because we're all the same shade of cray cray ;)

Some of my mom's side of the family

Some of my dad's side of the family

~ ... the World Cup is on and the amount of shocking results is ridiculous especially because my teams have been on the receiving end of the shocking results.

~ ... I have over 100 blog posts to catch up on due to the intermediate Wifi access over the past two weeks and frankly, way too much life happening for me to read about everyone else's lives.

~ ... due to the large number of blog posts I have to catch up on - I will be judging whether I read posts or not based on the titles.. #SorryNotSorry

~ ... when I left for my trip I cleared space on my PVR all the way down to 26% , I've returned to 95% so it's safe to assume I have a lot of TV to catch up to.

~ ... while reading Bailey's blog (Vanilla Blonde) I shared her realization and thoughts on assumptions about the fact that social media correspondence does not mean I am actually keeping in touch with friends - sometimes you have to actually talk to them so I will be texting / whatsapping / calling / skyping

~ ... while I was in Joburg, my hairdryer broke - while blowdrying my hair it suddenly started sparking and I was like

~ ... I'm loving the fact that Kathy has changed the button for the link up because even though I loved Ryan on the button, I am totally more a Ian fan!

~ ... speaking of Ian, last night I finally watched the finale of The Vampire Diaries and I full on cried (like ugly cry but not as ugly as Kim

And on that positive note.... what do you have to confess?

PS: Last confession, I couldn't get the button to work :( so click here for the link

November Football Fun!

This month is turning out to be extremely exciting (in certain aspects) because a certain person (ME!) gets to watch not one but two teams I absolutely LOVE within days....

I wish I could make this post more "professional" - if there is such a thing for blogs but I simply cannot contain my excitement.

While it is Liverpool Legends which means my Stevie Gerrard won't be in the team I still get to watch Liverpool in my own country and some of the greatest players will be there and I cannot wait. I am also really looking forward to being around people who share my passion for Liverpool. AND my dad bought awesome tickets!!!
A Young John Barnes

Then on Tuesday, I get to watch Spain verse my country and while a lot of people are saying that Bafana Bafana will be whipped, on the two previous occasions in which Bafana played Spain we played really well. Perhaps it's that saying that applies : When you socialise with more intelligent people you will think on their level. Maybe when Bafana plays Spain they realise they are playing the greatest team currently out there and they want to ensure that that they look good doing it?

Either way, as you should know, I LOVE Fernando Torres but turns out he's not coming as he is injured :( I literally had to take a moment to process that when I found out. I love that man and I'm sad he's not coming but as it turns out, there will be some new talent coming along. Also, Gerard Pique, Xavi and Jordi Alba won't be making it which makes me sad BUT Pepe Reina will be coming as will Xabi Alonso and David Villa and how could I forget Cesc Fabregas?

And when I thought I had good tickets for Liverpool Legends vs Kaizer Chiefs.. my dad did better (2 rows better) for the Spain game.

I am so thrilled that I get to visit the Moses Mabida Stadium for a game, which I haven't done before and then I get to go back to the FNB Stadium, to watch the champions of the world!

So.. I will do game reviews next week with loads of photos I'm sure! I'll also be positng on Instagram and Twitter!

What is going on with you that makes you as excited as me? Have you seen any of these teams play? Who will you be supporting?

Have a great weekend and enjoy some good football!!

Movie Review : Battle of the year

Last night I went to watch "Battle of the year" starring Chris Brown and Josh Holloway and my review is not pretty!

The storyline was so incredibly basic and predictable that Charne and I chatted through the movie as if we were watching a movie at home.

The movie released yesterday in South Africa and the movie house was sort of empty which should have been my first indication of the crap that was to follow.

I don't mean to bash the movie but honestly the best part of the movie was simple Josh Holloway.  It's a toss up between Josh Holloway's eyes and his dimples!

The movie was in 3D but was so NOT worth it! Again, accept for Josh Holloway.

The best part of the movie was that I got to spend some quality time with my cousin, Charne.

Have you watched this movie? Will you? Or the real question... Which is more appealing, Josh Holloway's eyes or his dimples???

You Gotta Love Some SUITS GIFs

Suits is funny, smart, witty and full of some wonderful eye candy! Mike Ross is sweet but naughty and Harvey is well... Harvey!

Would you be able to resist this face?

The complex dynamic of Harvey and Mike.

Donna - is well - Donna!

Low blow Harvey ;)

How long did we wait for this scene???

And Louis Litt, the wannabe Harvey.

What's your favourite thing about Suits? Who's your favourite character?
