Pretty Pictures of South Africa

I wish I had something inspiring to tell you about today but the truth is that I threw my brother a surprise 30th Birthday Party last night and I must say that today I'm feeling really rough. I'll do a post during the course of the week about the party but be warned they are not great quality but that's probably because everyone was having such a good time that they couldn't stop to take really good pics.

Moving on swiftly, in one of my previous posts I said I would post pictures of my beautiful country so here they are......

Football Friday : Freddie Ljungberg

Ok so I am sort of cheating with this week's Footie Hottie by using an old fan favourite in the form of Mt Freddie Ljungberg BUT considering that the Barclays Premier League will be starting this month I can't help but reflect on some of my old favourites including him.

Freddie is a retired Swedish footballer BUT he was also a Calvin Kein model, and by the pictures below, you'll understand why!
Freddie played for a number of teams over his professional career but most noticeably, Aresenal. He was part of what could be considered one of Aresenal's most successful teams.

He endeared himself to Arsenal supporters by having a bright red stripe in his hair."We love you Freddie, because you've got red hair, we love you Freddie because you're everywhere, we love you Freddie, you're Arsenal through and through" Later when he shaved his head this was updated to "We love you Freddie, because you've got no hair").

It's no wonder that they have now named him an Aresenal ambassedor of the club.

Onto Some Football News:
*Apparently Gareth Bale is desperate to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid. I suppose he wants to get more of the Spanish sun in. The big question is, if Bale leaves, who will Totts buy to replace him?

* Rumour has it that Cristiano Ronaldo may be on his way back to Manchester however this purchase will cost around 80 million Euros!

* Also, Wayne Rooney, may decide to stay at Manchester United, depending on how the fans receive him during the pre-season friendlies.

*Is Liverpool FC up for sale again? According to Fenway this rumour is not true.

*Lastly, Liverpool loaned Pepe Reina out to Napoli and he wrote an open letter to the Liverpool fans AND the emotion which comes through his letter is so thick and you can tell he is incredibly hurt by the way in which the loan deal occurred. I have to tell you, I am so angry with Brendan Rogers as I really don't believe that we should have loaned him out.

Either way, have a good weekend everyone! x

What Does August hold?

I know that it might be redundant to start every month with a post about what happened last month or what will happen this month BUT I must say this month truly feel different.

I don't think I've ever mentioned this before but I believe that God gives me signs to guide my way...

THAT WAS HOW I INTENDED ON STARTING MY POST BUT THEN I SAVED IT AND WENT OUT AND DURING LUNCH TIME I CAME UP WITH A DIFFERENT ASPECT

Sometimes bad things happen, sometimes freak of nature accidents happen and they can't be accounted for. What happened at lunch you ask?

Well, I went out with a colleague and we were sitting in the restaurant when we heard a noise and there was some commoation with a Clover vehicle. So when I turn they say the door flung open and maybe hit a car but not my car...... turns out it did hit another car and then went on to dent my car as well!

Now I realise that it is not terribly damaged BUT I absolutely LOVE my car and I can't help throw a mini pity party for myself. However it's a mini- pity party because I relalise things could have gone ridiculously bad.

So let's hope this is the worst thing that happens to me this month and that I can look towards achieving more goals and crossing more items of my bucket list this month.

I hope all of you have a better start to the month!

Facing Fears : Lady in Red

This may sound really strange to you, whoever "you" are and wherever "you" may be but for the first time EVER! I wore a red dress.

When I was at Hip Hop with a friend he immediately pointed this dress out for the wedding I was attending but my first reaction was "Oh, it's pretty but I do not wear red" he was so puzzled by it and then I tried to mumble my way through it but he didn't really care much about my answer he said the dress was perfect for me.

Either way I told him I wouldn't be buying any dress that day BUT a few days later I went past Hip Hop again, this time with my mother because they were having a sale (and who can say no to a sale?) and I walked in and the dress was there - starring at me so the sales consultant said why don't I just try it on and when I did I have to admit it was pretty beautiful SO I bought it.

BUT then I kept looking for other dresses and making excuse after excuse about perhaps finding another dress for the wedding. I even went back to Hip Hop and tried on several additional dresses and I promise NONE of them looked remotely good. They were either too low, too short, too see-through so a week before the wedding I decided to stop looking for another dress and stick to what  I had. However when I was packing for my trip, I carried additional old dresses in case I wanted another option but when I was getting dressed on Saturday, I realised that God was not merely giving me a sign to face my fear and wear this dress but that he had been shouting at me from every angle that this was the dress for me.

Now, I know this may seem like I am rambling again but the whole point of this post is that I didn't want to wear a red dress because :
1. Red is not a colour I necessarily like on my skin tone. (Unless it's a Liverpool top!)
2. I find red to be a extremely sterotypical of colour of indian people and I hate sterotyping (yes, I am aware that I am contradicting myself)
3. Red dresses attract lots of attention and I don't want to be the lady in red

However, I must say that even once I was dressed on Saturday afternoon I decided I looked good but is it too much? Now, looking back at it... I don't think so, I think it was just perfect!
What do you think?
